Thought for the day:

Romans 12:9-16  NIV
Love must be sincere.  Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.  Honor one another above yourselves.  Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with God’s people who are in need.  Practice hospitality.  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.  Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.  Live in harmony with one another.  Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.  Do not be conceited.

Love…such a word is used so often, yet real love…Christ’s love, is practiced so little.  The bible has a lot to say about love…God’s love for you, love between two life partners, love between parents and their children, love between you and your friends, and love between you and your enemies.  It must be important to be mentioned so often in the Bible.

When I am a witness to real love, it leaves me speechless.  When I am a witness to someone living out the love written about in these verses, I know that that person has the love of God in their lives.  Putting God and others before your self and your wants and pleasures…isn’t that what it boils down to?  What way can you make someone’s life more worthwhile today?  It can be as simple as a sincere hug, or something as hard as praying for one who has hurt you.  Love, really love someone today.
