Thought for the day:
Mark 2:9
Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’?
With so many different denominations out there, it’s so easy for Christians to take their eyes off of what is important…we put more emphasis on doctrine than what the Word of God has to say. It’s so easy, even in our daily walk, to focus on the wrong things. Works become more important than faith. Time with our family becomes more important than our time with God.
There is nothing wrong with works or with family time. God encourages both of those things. But when our focus becomes off kiltered or bleary, then it’s time to sit back and take inventory. Healing is important. For those who live with sickness or with chronic pain, healing may be all they think about. Who could blame them? But, God asks us to keep things in perspective. Our faith in Him, our salvation, our relationship with Him…these things must come first. When we keep our eyes on Him, then our works, our time with family, our requests for healing, become more balanced and in line with God’s will for our lives. Jesus forgave the man’s sin and then healed him. Keep your life in balance, my friend, and Jesus will take care of the rest.
